MDNGHT HERBAL is a black-owned company, founded by AFTR MDNGHT, a black female musician.

The shop was first thought of because the owner of the shop suffers from a few mental disorders. After becoming frustrated with constantly paying for medication, switching between medications, going through withdrawals, and dealing with other symptoms, she decided to find a holistic approach. Working in the medical field full-time, while also trying to pursue multiple associate's and bachelors degree in chemistry and criminal justice means that THC and Marijuana were definite no's to try. Through research, she came across a century-long method of smoking plants that are believed to have health benefits, like red raspberry leaves, St. Wort's, and many other dried herbs. She later decided that she would try to share with other people who are possibly suffering from certain issues. After deciding to sell smokables, she also came up with the idea to sell other products, like candles.
